thoughts in the sky
The sky was grey
When I found myself in a place
I never thought I’d be
Nevertheless, I found it
The sky was fading from blue
As I found love under the moon
In a place, I wish I owned
Nevertheless, I had to go home
The sky was pouring rain
While a man thought he knew what I wanted
And I shoved my car key into his left eye
Nevertheless, justice is too metallic for my taste
The sky was pink
From a sunset in the spring
And I promised myself I would never go back again
Nevertheless, I cried and made a scene
The sky was lit up with stars
And I knew I would never get lost again
All I had to do was lookup
Nevertheless, I walk with my head down
The sky was pitch black
When I forgot who I was
So I had to go out and find myself again
Yet I knew, I would probably lose it again
But who I was
Was whomever I wanted to be
So I learned to love my thoughts
That floated up high in the sky
